About B.Sc. Nursing

BSc in Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate course that focuses on providing detailed nursing to medical aspirants. Admission to BSc Nursing is provided through NEET which has been initiated by the Indian Government or several other university level entrance exams.

AIM

The aim of the undergraduate nursing programme is to :

1. Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

2. Prepare nurses who can take independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and Manager in a clinical / public health setting.

Eligibility

1.   The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.

2.   The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of :

o    Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) Or

o    Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-degree Examination (10+2)Or

o    An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) & English with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks(PCBE), For reserve category 40%.

 

3. Candidate shall be medically fit.

BSC Nursing Admission Process

. Notification :- Notification and advertisement about admission in news papers.

2. Online Form :- Candidates are required to fill online forms for NEET (All India Entrance

Exam).

3. NEET :- NEET is conducted and results are declared online

4. Option Form:- Deserving candidates fill option forms for selecting colleges

5. Merit List :- Merit list for 1st, 2nd and 3rd round is published online according to stipulated dates

6. Seeking Admission :- Candidates seek admission in colleges of their preferences

7. Visit College :- Candidates who get provisional admission letter for our college come with necessary documents and fees

8. College Form :- Candidates read brochure and fill form of college for scrutiny of admission score and required documents

9. Verification :- Original documents are checked and admission score is checked and verified by faculty. Students are provided counseling for selection of optional subjects

10. Admission Confirmation :- Admission is confirmed when candidates pay fees in Bank of India and submit required documents to Office

11. Counselling :- Information of student is recorded and Counseling is done about nature of B. Ed. course, expectations about attendance and personal problems such as pregnancy, health problems, financial problems etc.

Objectives of B.SC. Nursing Program:

On completion of the four year B.Sc. Nursing Programme the graduate will be able to

1.   Apply knowledge from physical, biological and behavioral sciences medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to individuals, families, and communities.

2.   Demonstrate an understanding of lifestyle and other factors, which affect health individuals and groups.

3.   Provide nursing care based on steps of the nursing process in collaboration with the individuals & groups.

4.   Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.

5.   Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.

6.   Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with national health policies and programmes.

7.   Practice within the framework of a code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.

8.   Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.

9.    Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical / community health settings.

10.Participate effectively as members of the health team in the health care delivery system.

11.Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical / community health settings.

12.Conduct need-based research studies in various settings and utilize the research feedings to improve the quality of care.

13.Demonstrate awareness, interest and contribute towards the advancement of self and of the profession.
